A few days ago, I wrote about why going through Hurricane Sandy made me adore my husband even more. For all those who have incredible spouses, why wait for a natural disaster (or other such event) to appreciate your spouse deeply? I’ve decided to dedicate every Tuesday to the celebration of incredible spouses, and the celebration of life’s beauties – big and small. Though life and marriage aren’t always perfect, there’s always something to be thankful for! Please join me.

Every time I hear a man declare, “I am the man of the house, and the head of this household!” and use that as an excuse to be bossy, aggressive, and controlling, I get extremely vexed. It really annoys me because I know that a true man knows how to be a strong leader, yet a caring presence in his home. A real head of the household is a true leader: providing the best for his home and being an amazing servant; more so, than a dictator.
I appreciate my husband because he is a true leader. I know that whether the situation involves taking total charge or thinking several steps ahead, he’s on it. Better yet, if I’m feeling sick or under-the-weather, I know he is willing and able to give me the best care possible and whip up an amazing meal at the same time. There’s nothing like his strong, caring arms.
What are you thankful for today?
